The truth about diets
The truth? They never work, not in the long run anyway. And because people are so impatient and envious, they want to lose as much as they can in the shortest amount of time possible. But, it won’t last! Believe me, I’ve tried many diets and have come to realization, that it’s all about changing your lifestyle. Know the facts, know how your body works and make sure there is no medical interfering of why you need to lose weight. Losing weight is for 70% between your ears. When you’re hungry, just stop for a moment and try to figure out where this feeling is coming from. Are you bored? Depressed? Happy? Or in short, are you an emotional eater? Then you’ll have to find something else to focus on. This sounds very easy, but it’s definitely not! But nobody said it was going to be easy to lose the weight and keep it off!
Also smells, the sight or even talking about food can trigger the mind and tell you you’re hungry. I don’t think that there are a lot of mentally healthy people nowadays in the western world knowing what hunger feels like. I felt a little bit of physical hunger…..after six days of fasting! I had a very strong feeling that I needed to feed my body. I didn’t want anything fancy, just a bit of plain vegetables, because mentally I didn’t want food at all. So, lets say that you’re not only feeling hungry, but you are physically hungry. What do you eat? What do most people eat? Not what they need to eat, which is a handful. Nowadays, you are weird for eating less then a king-size meal. And it’s almost socially unacceptable to deny the food being served.
Now, I’m not telling you to cut down your meals by 75%, but, there is a way in between. So instead of going on a fad diet, get to know your body first. You’re in it, so you should know best, not the media, not your friends or family.
